Matt Williams

Senior Associate

Matt Williams is a Senior Associate for Bloomsbury supporting various actuarial projects, primarily related to financial reporting and valuation systems. In his current role, Mr. Williams provides analytical, advisory and reporting support for large cross-functional projects that require robust project management.

 

Prior to his current role, Mr. Williams worked as a tax consultant intern for Deloitte, performing tax-based risk analysis, due diligence, process improvement, and tax filings for Fortune 500 companies.  While working in public accounting, Mr. Williams was selected to play a significant role in researching and designing a tax planning strategy for a publicly traded oil and gas production company.  The strategy was implemented in 2019 and was forecasted to save the company $13 million in taxes for the taxable year. 

 

Mr. Williams’ background in tax planning and consulting has proven to be highly transferrable to work in the actuarial project management capacity.  Additionally, Mr. Williams has worked for the University of Houston Accounting Department, where he was instrumental in managing instructional assistants and providing learning strategies for intermediate and advanced accounting courses.

 

Mr. Williams holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Houston and a Masters of Science in Accountancy from the University of Houston, Bauer College of Business. Mr. Williams is also a four-time recipient of the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team for his athletic and academic contributions to the University of Houston Men’s Golf Team.
